Statement of Faith
THE BIBLEWe believe the entire Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritiative Word of God, the revelation of God’s will for man and should be the supreme and final authority in our lives and faith. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
GODWe believe in one God who is revealed in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19)
JESUS CHRISTWe believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was raised from the dead and is at the right hand of the Father as true God and true man. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1, 14; Romans 9:5; Hebrews 12:2)
SALVATIONWe believe that salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22)
THE HOLY SPIRITWe believe that at the moment of salvation the Holy Spirit comes to indwell each believer and provides power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance for life. The baptism in the Holy Spirit, subsequent to conversion, releases the fullness of the Spirit and is evidenced by the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:9-14; 6:19-20; John 16:7-13, 14:15, 17; Galatians 5:25; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:1-12, 14:40)
MANWe believe that man is created in the image and likeness of God and is designed to reflect His character, but has been separated from God by sin. Man’s relationship with God can only be restored through a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:27; Psalms 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:2)
THE CHURCHWe believe that the Church is comprised of all those who acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior, and since the New Testament instructs believers to identify with other believers and to gather regularly for such purposes as worship, prayer, teaching of the Bible, and works of service, the local church is an indispensable part of God’s plan and purpose for His people. (Hebrews 10:24-25, Acts 2:42-47; 16:5)
GOD'S WILL FOR PROVISIONWe believe it is the Father’s will for believers to become whole, healthy and successful in all areas of life. But because of the fall, many may not receive the full benefits of God’s will while on Earth. That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ’s provision in order to better serve others. (3 John 2; Psalms 35:27; Psalms 103:2-3; Joshua 1:8)
ETERNITYWe believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord and the following bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting joy of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:4-6)
THE LORD'S SUPPERWe believe that the Holy ordinance of Communion should be received by believers walking in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ as a remembrance and celebration of what Christ accomplished for them on the cross. (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 16:16; Acts 8;12, 36:38; 10:47-48; 1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25)
WATER BAPTISMWe believe that baptism in water by immersion is a direct command of our Lord that should be followed by all believers as a public profession of their faith in Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38)
